Natural laxative foods and drinks
Natural laxative foods that may be terrible for people with one gastrointestinal condition can be extremely beneficial for other digestive problems.
What is a natural laxative for humans
Many of the foods used for laxatives. It can alleviate some of your constipation symptoms. These natural laxative foods can help get your bowels moving in the right direction. As
you examine your diet, check whether you are getting enough (or any!) of the following natural laxative foods list:
- Fruits —especially peaches, pears, cherries, apples, orange juice, Bananas and apple juice, which contain significant amounts of fructose and sorbitol; unripe fruits can also be problematic.
- Raw Vegetables and Brassica vegetables—such as broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower,
brussels sprouts, Tomatoes, Ginger and cabbage
- Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Discovered in similar natural oils, avocado oil, olive oil, and flaxseed oil. omega-3 also work as the natural laxative foods. These oils lubricate the walls of the intestines for the smoother bowel movement and also aid in removing harmful substances from the body.
- Whole-grain Beans, Nuts and Raw Seeds
Just about any nuts and raw seeds are mighty in protein and fiber to aid everything moving in the right direction. This can include almonds, sunflower seeds pumpkin seeds, and even seeds in oil form such as flax seed oil.
- Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne pepper stimulates the production of gastric juices and boosts the flow of enzymes within the digestive tract. Adding other spicy peppers and Jalapenos to cooked foods, along with a dash or two of black pepper, can have the same benefits.
They are full of antioxidants, and there are different types of them, some more delicious than others. Don’t forget to add strawberries, cherries, blueberries, or blackberries, just to name a few.
They will keep you regular, and not many people eat them, so change it up and start adding beets to your diet. You can get them jarred or prepare them you; it is easy. Roast them in the oven in tin foil for an added boost of flavor. You can use these natural laxative foods for weight loss as well.
Prunes are high in insoluble fiber that aids maintain bowel regularity. You can use prune juice and prunes for treating constipation.
Melons have lots of water in them, so they get efficiently digested. They are also very useful in loosening the stool.
- Aloe Vera
Aloe vera gel has powerful natural laxative compounds. For this reason, only, many products are made with it to heal constipation.
Some of such goods include aloe-emodin, aloin, and barbaloin. The Aloe latex contains anthraquinone glycosides that are said to have laxative effects.
- Any foods left unrefrigerated—especially egg salad, potato salad, and custards
- Milk products—among people who are lactose intolerant
- Sorbitol-rich foods
which include nearly all the goods that claim to be “sugar-free,” especially diabetic jams, ice creams, candies, and similar foods (Read labels carefully!)

- Coffee and Tea
Caffeine is a stimulant laxative which is not the way you want to have your bowel movements. Remember that your symptoms are merely aggravated when you do not drink enough fluids. As you work on your log, see whether you are faithfully drinking eight to ten glasses of water or other beverages every day. That morning cup of coffee may relieve some of your discomforts! Does this seem like too much to drink?
Try taking a water bottle or a thermos to work, and just keep refilling. It throughout the day. You will be surprised at how thirsty you are The body is. Make coffee or tea dates with your friends—it is a made-in-the-shade way to get some bowel-easing fluid into your
body while socializing!
Limiting the intake of fruits, grains, and vegetables and drinking less than one quart of total fluid per day can contribute to constipation. Always record any consumption of these foods in your Food and Symptom Log, and specify how much of them you eat. These foods, while excellent in the prevention of diarrhea, can significantly affect your constipation symptoms. Work on deleting these foods one at a time so that you can gauge the effect each one has on
your digestive system, and add “laxative-type foods.”
Of course, you do not want to overdo it with these foods; that can take you from one extreme to the other. Notwithstanding, these natural laxative foods, and drinks may help you on your path to a healthier digestive system. Think about creating a balance, rather than just overloading on the natural daily laxative.
